About the Workshop

Set in the gorgeous 4 acre Walled Garden, originally created around 1830, now restored into a peaceful, well maintained and beautiful garden which is now a popular local visitor attraction and resource for horticulture, education and enjoyment.

The Walled Garden consists of two main areas, the fully working kitchen garden and the ornamental pleasure garden which are separated by a yew hedge. The site also includes a run of 8 fully refurbished victorian glasshouses, several outbuildings, 3 ponds and the gorgeous Apé Bars Café in the central glasshouse space.

Our workshop will be in the bright and airy schoolroom and adjoining glass house whilst looking out onto the spectacular gardens. On sunny days, we can get outside!

The level 2 intermediate / advanced workshop is ideal for people who have a basic knowledge of furniture painting, or those who have attended Level 1. You will learn a variety of more advanced techniques including:

  • Glazing
  • Raised stencilling
  • Image transfer
  • Decoupage
  • Blending
  • Metallic/leaf foiling

You will use these techniques to create your own small pieces (all provided in the price) which you will be able to take home with you on the day. You will not need to bring any furniture with you for this workshop.
