About the Workshop
Set in the gorgeous 4 acre Walled Garden, originally created around 1830, now restored into a peaceful, well maintained and beautiful garden which is now a popular local visitor attraction and resource for horticulture, education and enjoyment.
The Walled Garden consists of two main areas, the fully working kitchen garden and the ornamental pleasure garden which are separated by a yew hedge. The site also includes a run of 8 fully refurbished victorian glasshouses, several outbuildings, 3 ponds and the gorgeous Apé Bars Café in the central glasshouse space.
Our workshop will be in the bright and airy schoolroom and adjoining glass house whilst looking out onto the spectacular gardens. On sunny days, we can get outside!
The workshop is ideal for complete beginners, or for people who have tried their hand at upholstery previously and would like to hone their skills. You will learn how to make and upholster a gorgeous footstool (and to paint or wax the bun feet in a colour / shade / style / height of your choice to complement your fabric). You will finish your footstool during the day.
For You to Bring
Please bring a 1 metre piece of your favourite fabric to cover your footstool. Should you need any guidance with this, please get in touch.
Please come in comfortable clothing which you don’t mind getting marked or please bring an apron. Also please wear comfortable shoes.
Please bring along cash or have your PayPal and/or on-line Bank Transfer details ready should you wish to purchase paint, products and/or tools at the workshop.
