“Another great day learning new craft skills from Joanne. Level 2 furniture painting was brilliant, as was level 1. My shed is now cleared waiting to be painted and have my electrics re-connected. Can’t wait to get started on my own projects!”

– Barbara Smith

“I attended the furniture painting workshop today Level 1, thank you Jo for another fab day. I loved the upholstery footstool workshop so much I wanted to learn more skills and that’s what I did today. I was looking forward to this course and it was more than I expected it to be. I have learned some amazing techniques that I will use on some pieces of furniture I have at home to upcycle. Jo, I keep looking at my chair and thinking wow I did that! Thank you again for all your patience, knowledge and the skills you taught us today and your encouragement to step out of my comfort zone! I met a lovely couple today, so nice meeting like-minded people. Can’t wait for Level 2 Jo, and the handouts are spot on and a great help in knowing what to buy. I would highly recommend the workshops.”

– Julie King

Thanks Joanne. Can’t wait for the advanced course.”

“Great course for anyone wanting to enhance or reminder of techniques, or like me start from the beginning not having tried it before. Great tips on which paints work better with the different techniques. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere in a great location. I will definitely be going to more of Jo’s courses!”

– Lesley Hitchen

“I was given this course as a birthday present from my daughter. This course did not appeal to me but went with a very small table (just about to be thrown into a tip) not knowing what to expect! The day was spent with a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructor, Joanne.

At the end of the day I came away having transformed my small table and learnt a great deal about all types and methods of transforming items of furniture.

There were 8 of us all with different items and all took a marvellous turnaround in appearance. Changed my mind – would recommend this course especially to people who think they cannot do this.”

– Val Davies

“Today I had the privilege to attend Jo’s Boho Shed studio and learn how to paint a piece of furniture. My best friend bought me this experience as a surprise and it did not disappoint. I had a dark wood table that looked very unloved and with Jo’s great knowledge, passion for her craft and enthusiastic enthusiasm for us to enjoy learning a new skill, I produced an amazing rejuvenated piece of furniture in Swanky Pants colour edged in distressed silver. Highly recommended and thank you Jo xx”

– Sharon Radley

I would recommend this course and Jo to anyone.
I’m also looking forward to the upholstery course which I have booked for this summer.”

Upholstery Workshop Reviews

“I attended the course this week and have been telling everyone about it since! I had a fantastic day making my footstool, eating cakes and chatting to others on the course. Jo is a thorough tutor and is on hand to offer advice and expertise while you make your footstool. I’d highly recommend the course to anyone with an interest in crafting or upholstery. The skills I learned this week will enable me to tackle other upholstery projects, not just footstools.”

“Attended a footstool upholstery course last week at Cuerden Park with Jo. I had a great day and Jo was fantastic at teaching us all step by step on how to create the stool. I learnt so much from her and feel confident that I could produce another on my own especially as we all received a print out of the step by step instructions to take home. I also met some lovely ladies and wouldn’t hesitate going on another of Jo’s other courses. Fantastic day!!!”

“I’ve just completed the upholstery workshop, it was lovely to meet likeminded people and do something you all enjoy, the tutor Joanne was so lovely and very patient allowing you to work at your own pace, she also makes delicious cakes to share with the group, it has given me the skills and confidence to take on a small project myself. I would highly recommend it and will definitely book another workshop soon .

DIY & Home Maintenance Workshop Reviews

“Fabulous beginners DIY course. Confidence boosting and demystifying. Jo is really patient, not patronising and fully explains everything you need to tackle basic home maintenance. Plenty of one on one teaching and demonstration. It was brilliant.”

– Sam B

“I attended the Beginners DIY and home maintenance workshop this week and learnt so much. Having done very little in the way of DIY previously, I now have much more confidence to try different jobs around the home. It was great to have the opportunity to try new skills during the course. The notes provided during the learning session are a really useful prompt. And the Home Toolkit list will be essential in putting together some key items. It was a really lovely day, in a small group so very relaxed, and definitely worth attending. Thanks again Jo.”

– Rock H

“A great day which was very useful!
Jo’s very knowledgeable, patient, and helpful as I tried to master some new skills!
I would recommend this course to anyone wanting to feel more confident tackling DIY jobs around the home.”

– Katy Oldham

“I can’t recommend the DIY workshop enough. As a 30-something bloke with no confidence at DIY, I learned so much over the course of the day that I can now make use of at home. Suddenly all those little drilling and fixing jobs that need doing around our new house aren’t daunting any more, and I won’t need to pay a handyman to do them. The delivery of the workshop was great – easy to follow, informative and detailed, a friendly atmosphere and a good laugh too. Plus delicious cakes throughout. If there was a follow-up class for slightly more advanced DIY I’d definitely go back for it. Thanks Jo – it was a really transformative day!”

– Alan Tansley

“My partner and I had the pleasure of attending a DIY & Home Maintenance workshop with Jo a couple of weeks ago. The day went great, we learnt so much in the space of only a few hours and at the end felt so much more confident and empowered about fixing things around the house. The atmosphere was lovely, Jo was very attentive and made sure that each of us knew how to use all the tools properly with good technique. She also provided tea and delicious treats!

I would definitely recommend Jo’s workshops to anyone who is wanting to broaden their DIY skill set and become more self reliant. She is an excellent teacher! “

– Iulia Chertea
