Furniture Painting Workshop – Preston PR5 0SG

I’d love to welcome you to this one day (10 am to 3 pm) ‘Furniture Painting/Upcycling’ workshop in a relaxed and friendly environment at the lovely Hoghton Village Hall, Preston, Lancashire.

Learn the wonderful art of upcycling (no previous experience needed) from scratch whilst making some new like minded friends in a relaxed, supportive and beautiful environment. The workshop is ideal for complete beginners, or for people who have tried their hand at upcycling previously and would like to expand their skills.

You will have the opportunity to bring along and restore a piece of furniture (such as a child’s or small chair, a stool, a small unit, a couple of medium sized picture frames, a small table etc.), ideally a piece of furniture with some detail e.g. bevelling or some carving would allow you to try out different techniques (but don’t worry if it’s a plain piece). I emphasize ‘small’ as it is preferable to spend more time learning techniques on something small (ish) rather than spending the whole time plain painting a large piece.

I will explain all about how to prep your furniture before painting (it’s not as bad as you may think), the different branded paints available on the market and the pros and cons of each, differing brushes, tools, materials and protective products required for effective and creative furniture painting.

You will be using our gorgeous Re-Colour Furniture Chalk Paint during the workshop (provided), also available for you to buy after the day on this site (please select the button at the top of the home page ‘Buy Furniture & Paint’).

I will be there every step of the way to guide you and take you through the process at your pace. With such a small group, there is plenty of time for one to one discussion. Full workshop notes on paints, products and techniques and where to buy will be provided.

After the workshop you will be able to upcycle many of your own pieces at home having learned all about the different products and techniques. Please feel free to contact me after the day should you need any help or guidance.

Homemade cakes, cream scones and tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day. Lunch is not included in the price although there is a small shop a 5 min drive away which sells snacks or please feel free to bring some lunch with you.
